These one-to-one BAM MKE Research Grant Scheme clinic sessions are open to anyone who is planning to apply to the Management Knowledge and Education (MKE) Research Grant Scheme within the BAM and Partner Research Grant Schemes 2025.
The 30-minute clinic sessions are targeted at applicants who have already formulated an MKE Research Grant Scheme proposal and made significant progress towards writing an application. A draft of your application should be submitted to the clinic facilitator at least five working days before your confirmed clinic session. You should be familiar with the content of the BAM and Partner Research Grant Schemes information session before booking a clinic session

Kate Black is a Professor of Management Learning and Education at Northumbria University.
Following an early career as a Marine Ecologist at a Field Centre in rural Pembrokeshire, Kate moved into HR management (Recruitment and Development) within retail management. Her key role was to implement the recruitment and development strategy during a period when the branch was under considerable strain both locally in terms of staffing availability, and as a result of changing sales strategies.
Kate joined Northumbria Business School in Summer 2014 following 10 years at the University of Chester, latterly within Chester Business School. She currently holds the role of Director of Education within the Business School
Kate is also the Co-Vice Chair for the BAM Management, Knowledge and Education sub-committee.
Professor of Management Learning, University of Liverpool
Professor Lisa Anderson is Professor of Management Learning at the University of Liverpool Management School. She is a Fellow and Trustee of the Academy of Social Sciences and a BAM Fellow.
Her current research interests are in examining the impact of management education and research on managers’ practice, the nature of scholarship and the role and conditions of Education-focused academics in business and management schools.
Lisa has held several leadership positions, at Liverpool, including Associate Dean and Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor Education. She has written textbooks for professional doctorate and HRM students and published in a range of journals including Academy of Management Learning and Development, British Journal of Management and Management Learning and has also just launched a podcast, Girl Profs, examining and celebrating the careers of women professors.
