Join us for the BAM MKE webinar on 9th June, where Emeritus Professor Rob Ackrill will provide background to the NTF scheme, based on his own successful application in 2014 and his many years of experience as a reviewer. Rob will describe how the process of applying for the NTF can be incorporated into a broader and longer-term career plan.

Rob is Professor Emeritus in Economics and Policy in the Department of Economics, Nottingham Business School, having been at NTU since 2000, and full professor since 2010. He became Professor Emeritus in October 2024, but remains active in, for example, ongoing research projects, research ethics, doctoral supervision, and the promotion of the Advance HE National Teaching Fellowship Scheme.
Rob completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Nottingham in 1992, after which he was first a Tutorial Assistant then Teaching Fellow. In 1995, Rob was appointed Lecturer in European Economics in the Department of Economics, University of Leicester. He was Deputy Director of the Centre for European Studies, Programme Leader for the MA in European Economic Studies and also held a Jean Monnet Chair in European Economic Studies. After arriving at NTU as Senior Lecturer in Economics, he progressed to Reader in European Economics in 2006, and to Professor of European Economics and Policy in 2010. He was also awarded a second Jean Monnet Chair in 2010. He became Professor Emeritus in October 2024.

Dr Elizabeth Houldsworth is an Associate Professor of Leadership, Organisations and Behaviour at Henley Business School. She is an experienced business school academic working in the areas of leadership and personal development, coaching and human resources management.
Liz teaches on MBA and Corporate programmes at Greenlands campus as well as on Masters programmes at Whiteknights campus. Her research focuses mainly on management learning; recent studies have included a comparative analysis of MBA students and their career outcomes.
In her role as Academic Director for MSc in International Human Resource Management, Liz secured CIPD accreditation and oversees the ongoing relationship with the professional body. In addition to teaching HRM modules Liz also teaches managing transformation, personal development and coaching.
She is an Associate Certified Coach of the International Coaching Federation and an Academic Fellow of the CIPD, as well as being an active member of the British Academy of Management's Special Interest Group in Knowledge Management and Learning. Liz also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Management Education.
Prior to joining academia she worked in human resource management and in management consultancy with the Hay Group, where she specialised in the area of performance management.
Participants will leave with greater insight into the NTF award.
Provide an opportunity to begin to develop own submission and an appreciation of how best to capture their current experience, as well as what they need to work on in the next few years to ensure their submission
