Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly advanced within Human Resource Management (HRM), offering transformative potential across the entire employee life cycle.
This session, inspired by the recently published book “Augmenting Human Resource Management with Artificial Intelligence: Towards an Inclusive, Sustainable, and Responsible Future,” aims to provide a balanced perspective on AI’s impact on HRM and the broader Future of Work.
Using a configurational approach and real-world examples, it will explore AI’s implications for operational, relational, and transformational HRM practices. Furthermore, the session will discuss Responsible AI as a framework for navigating and balancing the risks and opportunities AI presents in the HRM domain.
The event speaks Sections A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, as detailed in the BAM Framework.

Aizhan Tursunbayeva is an Associate Professor at the University of Naples Parthenope, Italy. Aizhan researches PA, AI, and the Future of Work and HRM.
In 2023, she was contracted by the International Labour Organization as an expert advisor on Responsible AI and the Future of Work.
She is currently a Plenary Member for the General-purpose AI Code of Practice for the EU’s AI Office and an Associate Editor of the European Management Journal: “AI and the Future of Work and Organizations” section.

Professor Christian-Andreas Schumann holds a professorship in Business Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, Germany, specializing in the design of corporate systems and production informatics.
He is also the chair and founder of the Continental Network, where he facilitates collaboration and knowledge exchange among European scholars and experts within the BAM network, fostering innovation and strengthening professional connections.
