DPDoR supports Directors of Research, and those aspiring to the role, to develop their leadership and strategic capabilities to manage research performance, strategy, and funding in a rapidly changing research landscape.
DPDoR 2022/23 will take place in person at the Chartered Association of Business Schools, 40 Queen St, London EC4R 1DD with four interactive sessions taking place throughout the year to support you to develop your strategic approach and build a strong leadership network within the UK business school community.

About DPDoR
DPDoR has successfully run for over 15 years as part of a joint initiative between the Chartered Association of Business Schools and the British Academy of Management. During this time, the programme has prepared around 250 senior academics to lead their institutions’ research and navigate the internal and external demands of the day.

Participants on DPDoR, once accepted, are encouraged to discuss with their Dean or Head of Department their learning objectives and prospective actions for research strategy from the programme. Reflections upon this and discussion about realising prospective learning and actions will form a central component of the DPDoR.

Dates and Location
DPDoR 2022/23 will start in November 2022 with four in-person sessions taking place throughout the year at a central London venue. The dates are:
Session 1: Thursday 24 November to Friday 25 November 2022
Session 2: Thursday 19 January to Friday 20 January 2023

Session 4: Thursday 8 June to Friday 9 June 2023
Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions. A participant will not be awarded a certificate of completion if they fail to attend more than one session.

Fees and Enquiries
Programme fee: £3,875.
Please note: DPDoR is designed for the UK HE sector and therefore we are unable to accept applications from non-UK participants to this particular programme. Due to the nature of the programme which focuses on personal development and encourages frank and open discussion, it may not always be suitable for two participants to attend from the same institution. If we receive more than one registration from individuals at the same institution we will notify the institution and the participants, taking account of when the registrations were received, and ask for guidance on whether one or both can attend in the same cohort.

Payment and Cancellation Policy
Payment for the event must be received before the start date of the event concerned. Access will not be permitted to the event if full payment has not been received.
Cancellations

Cancellations received within 14 days of booking your place on the event will receive a full refund.

Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and later than 14 days before the start date of the event will not be eligible for a refund.

Although we endeavour to run all events as advertised, BAM reserves the right to cancel any event if, for example, there are not enough people to justify running the event or if other significant unforeseen circumstances arise. Please be aware that delegates are always responsible for ensuring their own travel and accommodation against cancellation, and the British Academy of Management is not able to reimburse anyone for these under any circumstances.
