Description

Over the last two decades the many corporate scandals and failures have given rise to an interest in bad leadership. This represents a shift from the core assumption in the majority of leadership research that “leadership is good”.

Furthermore, psychopathy in the workplace has been researched in the literature, however the conceptualisation of it fails to capture the complete picture of the construct and more research into the phenomenon is called for. Approaches that address this gap and enable deeper exploration and understanding of the dimensionality of psychopathy in the workplace appear to be warranted.

This webinar brings together two resource persons who will engage in a leadership discourse that is informed by theory and practice. In this talk, the development of thinking about the nature, causes, and consequences of the “dark side” of leadership will be explored. The seasoned experts will provide a review of the psychopathy construct in the workplace and evaluate the existing measures in terms of their strengths and weaknesses in relation to others. Most importantly, a novel view of these concepts will be provided.
