This is a well-established and popular annual workshop for Doctoral and Early Career Researchers. The aim of this ‘hands-on’ session is to enable ECRs to successfully transform part of their research into a paper and prepare for high quality conferences such as the BAM 2024 as well as build a strong basis for future publications.
Within a safe environment, participants will be able to experiment with their writing style, receive feedback from well-renowned academics to improve and develop their conference paper.
Postgraduate (PhDs and DBAs) as well as Early Career Researchers aiming to submit a full or developmental paper to high quality conferences such as the BAM 2024 Conference.
Participants are encouraged to submit a draft of their working paper in order to receive more tailored feedback during group discussions.
The draft could take any form from one-page, bullet-point document to an extended abstract of 600 words (excluding references). Whichever the format, please, make sure that the word count is up to 600 words -otherwise, the paper will not be allocated.

Professor Sarah Robinson

Sarah is a Professor at Rennes School of Business and a visting Professor at the University of Glasgow. Previously, she worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester, the Open University, Lancaster University and in international development in China and Ukraine.
Her interests relate to learning in its many forms, both personal and organisational. She is particularly interested in developing visual, digital and hermeneutic research methodologies for organisational research and in applications of Pierre Bourdieu’s work to organisation studies.

Professor David Sarpong

David Sarpong is Professor of Strategy and the Marketing and Strategy Subject Group Head at Aston Business School, Aston University. An elected Vice Chair of the British Academy of Management (BAM), David serves on the BAM Council’s Sub-Committee of Academic Affairs of Conference and Capacity Building (AACCB), and is a former Convenor of the Annual Doctoral Symposium of the Academy. A Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) Laboratory for Economics of Innovation, David has since 2015 conducted research on Russia's Basic Research Program (RBRP) on 'Global Competitiveness’ at the National Research University in Moscow. He is Associate Editor for the Journal of Strategy and Management, and currently enjoys a Visiting Professorship at the Bristol Business School, and an Honorary Research Fellowship at the School of Management, Information Technology, and Public Governance, University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.

Mat has published in world-leading journals, including Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, British Journal of Management, and Long-Range Planning. Mat sits on several editorial review boards, including the Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, and British Journal of Management. Adina Dudau is Professor of Public Management at the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School. Her research interest on public service management combines disciplinary aspects of organisational theory, management control, strategy, human resources and organisational behaviour. She is a regular at management and public administration conferences and has published in top journals in the field as well as serving as associate editor for European Management Journal, Public Management Review and Journal of Management Inquiry. Her research has been funded by the EU, UKRI, CIMA and Carnegie Universities’ Trust. Currently, Adina is working on three projects on public service ecosystems, risk management, and integrity management and corruption
