“There is no change without dream, as there is no dream without hope” Paolo Freire (1992)
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the BAM Gender in Management SIG is pleased to invite all to an online conversation with Dr Tabitha Sindani (University of Greenwich) and Dr Lara Bianchi (University of Nottingham) to discuss feminist hope and how we can transform it into action.
This conversation will be facilitated by Dr Jenny K Rodriguez (University of Manchester), Chair of the GiMSIG and Dr Elisabeth Anna Guenther (University of Vienna), Secretary of the GiMSIG.
This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment”. As we continue to call for, work and demand equitable spaces for all women and girls, where their rights are respected, and they are empowered to lead fulfilling lives, thrive and achieve their goals, we also continue to grapple with how we can take meaningful action that accelerates change.
In our challenging times, feminist hope offers us an audacious and transformative way to dream about and materialize our desire for equality and a better life for all. In reflecting about how we can dream and take action, this webinar will focus on the following questions:
> What is the meaning of feminist hope in the work that you do?
> What can we engage with feminist hope in our activities as researchers and educators?
> How do we turn hope into actions to achieve rights, equality and empowerment of all women and girls?
This session takes place the day before International Women’s Day 2025.
The event speaks to A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3, D1, D2 and D3, as detailed in the BAM Framework
