This webinar will showcase the vitality of the systems psychodynamic approach and its potential to humanise organisation studies, management practice, and working lives.
This webinar will showcase the vitality of the systems psychodynamic approach and its potential to humanise organisation studies, management practice, and working lives. Jennifer Petriglieri, Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD, will use her personal journey as a researcher over the past 15 years to examine how the systems psychodynamics approach invites (and requires) scholars to move closer to organisations, workers, and to themselves as a way of uncovering the unconscious dynamics of organising. Using the metaphor of a life she will explore how revealing the fears, needs and wishes of groups, organisations and institutions, and in parallel developing the discipline to bring forth our own fears, needs and wishes as researchers can foster a more adaptive and functional way of organising and of researching the organisational world. She will argue that in a world (and academic field) that is facing forces of polarization the systems psychodynamic approach is more vital and relevant than ever.
This event is part of the annual BAM Academic Affairs of Conference and Capacity Building (AACCB) Masterclasses.
Our series of BAM Masterclasses are delivered by prominent management theorists from across the globe each year. These online webinars are an exceptional learning experience, revealing how top academics think about the world, what inspires them, and how they develop and apply their ideas. Where do influential ideas come from? What leads to them to being widely taken up?
During the Masterclasses, our highly renowned speakers explain how their academic and intellectual journeys begun, and how they developed as influential academics in management. There are also opportunities to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers.
