Heather’s career spans over 40 years across financial, professional & technology services, with a specific focus on international trade, entrepreneurship and corporate banking. Heather is a business thought leader and an innovator with a notable track record of building high performing diverse teams.
Heather has acted in an advisory capacity to FTSE CEOs across a multitude of industries and sectors. She is a highly respected and sought after public speaker, having addressed C-Suite leaders, senates, royalty, and global business audiences worldwide.
Heather has won many accolades, including being listed on the Black Powerlist, as one of the 100 most influential black people in the UK. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), whose purpose is to open channels of opportunity for black executives to positively impact business and communities, and the CFO's Diversity Forum for Business in the Community (FTSE100).
Heather has worked in partnership with HRH the Duchess of Edinburgh as part of her role as the Chair CMI Women. Heather also provided special advisory assistance to Queen Maximus of the Netherlands for her women in entrepreneurship programme.
Heather received her OBE for services to business in 2017 and has recently been appointed as the Chancellor of the University of York. Heather is also the Patron of Women in Banking and Finance.
Heather is a Senior Advisor to Teneo, a Global CEO Advisory Firm, as well as a Trustee on the Board of Enfield Enterprise and until recently (following a 7-year tenure) was a Trustee on the Board for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). She now sits on the committee for Companions and has recently been elected to join the Everyone Economy Committee

Herman Bril is Managing Director and Head of Sustainability and Climate Innovation at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments). Herman joined the organization in July 2022 and is responsible for leading the strategic direction of PSP Investments’ Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) approach.
Herman has over 25 years of experience in leadership roles at financial institutions spanning across investment management, investment banking, treasury, life and pension insurance, and development finance. Prior to joining PSP Investments, he was Partner & CEO Asset Management at Arabesque Group, where he built and scaled up a digital global asset management firm powered by technology and ESG data.
For several years, Herman also served as Chief Investment Officer at the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund in New York. In this role, he was responsible for managing close to $80 billion in assets under management as well as 120 staff, including all asset classes and the sustainable investment team.
Herman holds a Master of Economics from the Free University in the Netherlands, a Consulting and Coaching for Change qualification from INSEAD France, and a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. He also co-edited two ESG books: Sustainable Investing: A Path to a New Horizon (Routledge, 2020); and Sustainability, Technology, and Finance: Rethinking How Markets Integrate ESG (Routledge, December 2022).

Professor Petra Molthan-Hill, PhD is Co-Chair of the UN PRME Working Group on Climate Change, Professor at NBS (UK), Author of the 'Handbook of Carbon Management. A Step-by-Step Guide to High-Impact Climate Solutions for Every Manager in Every Function' and Editor of 'Sustainable Management. A Complete Guide for Faculty and Students' (3rd edition). She is an international multi-award-winning expert for Climate Change Mitigation Tools and leads the ‘Climate Literacy Training -CLT-ECOS' distributed worldwide with QS Impact and UN PRME, which won the QS Reimagine Education Award in Sustainability (Gold) in 2022. She has worked with SMEs and many other organizations such as the NHS on how to reduce GHG emissions. From 2013–2021, she led the Green Academy at NTU integrating with her team the SDGs into the curriculum of every discipline across all faculties.

Our BAM2024 Conference will also feature our Meet the Editors sessions and lots of opportunities for networking. Chaired by Professor Lynn Oxborrow, and Professor Helen Shipton FBAM from Nottingham Trent University, the BAM2024 Conference is shaping up to be the place to be this September.
