The British Academy of Management, the learned society for business and management, is seeking a new CEO to work closely with a highly committed Trustee Board, Council, and established office team to deliver the next phase of its growth and development, in light of the impending retirement of the current CEO after seven years in role. A warm, supportive and very enthusiastic community, based on strong values, provide an exceptionally attractive opportunity for an experienced leader within the learned society and third sectors to lead and develop a thriving organisation.

The BAM office team comprises 5 full time and 3 part time staff, in addition to the CEO. The BAM office is based in a leased office in the historic heart of the City of London, near Bank, Cannon Street and London Bridge stations, and currently operates a hybrid working arrangement, with Wednesdays and Thursdays as office days for the full-time staff team.

Some travel within the UK and overseas is required. The main BAM annual conference necessitates a week away from home at the beginning of each September, and the weeks leading up to it are very busy with no opportunity for annual leave. It is important that the appointee is able to commit to this arrangement.

This is a full-time role, which offers a generous annual leave allowance of 26 days plus public holidays and the office closure between Christmas and New Year, plus an attractive employer pension contribution. The annual salary will be up to £75,417, including the London allowance.

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter, outlining your vision for the role and how you meet the requirements to Jayne Ashley, [email protected] by noon on Monday 15th July. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in London (in person) on Monday 5th August.
