We are delighted to confirm that Professor Pawan Budhwar, FBAM, Head of Aston Business School, has been awarded the International Federation of Scholarly Management (IFSAM) Award for Exceptional Service to the Management Field Worldwide.

Professor Budhwar has been recognised for his 'outstanding leadership in building collegiality, community, and capacity in the British Academy of Management (BAM) and in the Indian Academy of Management (INDAM), where he served as Co-Founder and First President'.

Professor Katy Mason, Chair of BAM, said: ‘I am delighted to see Pawan’s contribution to building capacity in Management studies globally recognised.  He is a leading international scholar, and has striven to develop scholarship in India, most notably through founding the Indian Academy of Management. We are most fortunate to benefit from his contribution within our core team, as a Council member and now Vice Chair for Research & Publications, as well as being Editor in Chief of internationally leading publications, including our own British Journal of Management, and a BAM Fellow. In addition to this, it is important to note that his contributions are underpinned by a genuine and long-term desire to use his talents and energies to serve the community and make it a better place.’

Professor Nic Beech, BAM’s President, said: ‘Pawan has been an outstanding leader for both the Indian Academy of Management and BAM. It is wonderful to see this award going to a modest person whose leadership has had a truly positive impact on so many in our international community.’
