We were very pleased to partner with Società Italiana di Management (SIMA), our Italian sister society, once again on the SIMA-SIM-BAM School of Research Methods. The summer 2024 edition ran from 17th to 20th July in the beautiful, historic surroundings of Certoso di Pontignano near Siena. This summer’s topic was "An introduction to Python, Network Analysis and Machine Learning" and saw enthusiastic participation of an enthusiastic group of students from sixteen different universities - five located in the UK and eleven in Italy. The programme included workshops run by scholars from Italian and UK universities on:
- Complementing Python with ChatGPTPython (Gian Piero Cervellera, University of Siena)
- Digital Network Analysis (Alessandro Caliandro, University of Pavid, and Ilir Rama, University of Milan),
- Machine learning to investigate complex systems (Michele Tumminello, University of Palermo)
- Computational Text Analysis in Organization and Management Theory (Simone Santoni, Bayes Business School, London)
