UKRI EDI Caucus: Covid-19 survey – call for participants
As a UK scholar, how did Covid-19 impact your work?
The British Academy of Management is supporting the work of the recently-launched UKRI EDI Caucus (EDICa) and we strongly encourage those based at UK institutions to respond to its survey, which seeks to find out more about the different ways Covid-19 impacted our community. Please read the information from the EDICa below:
Also below is information about the first of their funding calls.
Covid-19 survey – call for participants
EDICa has launched an ambitious nation-wide survey of everyone working in the research & innovation (R&I) ecosystem. Please take 10 minutes to complete our survey and encourage your colleagues and network to do the same.
Plenty of studies came out in 2020 and 2021 looking at the immediate impact Covid was having on careers, and the uneven impact it had on minoritised people. But where are we now? What has been the medium- to long-term impact? The more responses we get, the more nuanced will be our data. Our funders, UKRI and the British Academy, are keen to see our results to inform their EDI strategies.
The survey is open until 29 September 2023, and accessible via the full range of devices, e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.

Flexible Fund Launch
We are excited to share that our £1m Flexible Fund has launched, and the call for applications of interest is now open! For more information on the Flexible Fund, how to submit your application of interest and timeline for full submissions, please head to the EDICa website: https://edicaucus.ac.uk/flexible-fund/
The first call (of three) will prioritise research projects that focus on mitigating the effects of COVID-19 and public health measures on inequalities across R&I careers. For example, projects may include, but are not limited to, long Covid, menstrual health, and career implications of Covid-19 and lockdowns.
For more information, join our launch events on 11 & 18 September. Links to register can be found on the webpage https://edicaucus.ac.uk/flexible-fund/.
